The Centre has initiated the project Farming terracing. Its objective is the analysis and characterization of agricultural terraces systems of the Valencian Community. At the same time, it intends that the information that is collected be available online through a Web Mapping and, in addition, users could incorporate new locations and information about terraces in a collaborative way.
The project consists of several stages. Initially, terrace systems of two pilot areas are being inventoried: those of Matet, Castellón and Alpuente, Valencia.
In a second phase field work for ground truth recognition and terrace systems validation will be undertaken.
In the third phase information related to the studied terrace systems will be published in a Web Mapping and procedures to promote participation and collaboration of users will also be designed.
